For Sale, Rare 1978 Silver Streak Class C RV
Price: $8,000Used RV for sale by owner, found a rare vintage Class C RV being offered for sale by the owner in Pueblo, Colorado. Silver Streak Class C RV based on 1978 Dodge Sportsman chassis powered by a big block 440 V8 engine mated with automatic transmission is runs and drives well with no issues. The RV was listed on craigslist about four days ago and was still available when we posted it here.
Why is Silver Streak RV so unique, looks special, and reminds us of Airstream? Yes, this is a great RV if you know Airstream, and indeed, there is a connection between the two companies. According to Airstream’s history, in the late 40s, Airstream founder Wally Byam worked with Curtis Wright, but the partnership eventually ended. Byam went back to building Airstream trailers, while Curtis Wright’s company was sold to investors who formed Silver Streak Trailer Company.
So don't be surprised if the appearance of the two is almost the same, but it's different. The material may be the same, but in construction techniques, the two are completely different. So who is the best? the market has chosen its victor since Silver Streak went out of business in 1997.

Rare 1978 Silver Streak class c rv. The chassis is a 1978 dodge sportsman with a big block 440 and automatic transmission. Runs and drives, drove it 300 miles home when I purchased it with no issues. All 6 tires are new and both the vehicle battery and deep cell rv battery are new. Both the grey water and black water tanks are new. All electrical and water systems work but I have not tested propane. The onan generator works. there is some body damage to the front but the fiberglass has been repaired but not the fender of the van. No title yet, but will provide a bill of sale. I have the vin ran and came back clean. I'm open to negotiation with a serious buyer ready to purchase. I'm also open to cash+trade but cash is king.
