I am selling my 1988 "Eco-friendly" Dolphin Toyota Deluxe Motor Home. It has just over 100k miles and is in good condition. It has been a dependable and trustworthy workhorse for my family, taking us safely and comfortably everywhere we traveled, really giving us that sense of freedom and wanderlust that we couldn't get with other RVs.
As the owner, I took a few pictures of just how it looks now before it gets cleaned up. This is what I feel a prospective buyer would want to see. You will notice that, except for a half-assed (white) repaint job on some of the cabinets, everything else is original. I checked the VIN record and it is perfect. This model, the Deluxe, sold new in 1988 for around $27,000. In today's dollars, that would be nearly $70,000. The engine is in great shape and should do well for the next 100K miles. It has been serviced regularly since I bought it. No leaks, the trans operates smoothly, and I've added all new tires just a few months back. Gas mileage has held at 15 to 20mpg.
I am selling it because my wife and I are getting older and do not travel as much as we used to. We had considered getting it ready to "rent out," where we could make a lot of money. However, that's a business for younger people, not for us. This would be a good time for us to "downsize."
