CLASSIC 1973 WINNEBAGO INDIAN
Perfect for a nice AIRBNB rental on your property, a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE or an ALIEN INVASION! !!
I purchased this beautiful 1973 Winnebago Indian, not long ago, for a cross country road trip. An unexpected turn of events has caused my girlfriend and I to halt preparations on our magical adventure and pass on this beautiful time capsule from the past, to a new group of wide-eyed wanderers.
This vintage land yacht has got almost all its original interior still, including shag carpeting throughout and fabric upholstery. Everything we've tested inside works from the full size refrigerator/freezer to the stove and oven and lights and fan, etc. All you have to do is plug her in. Nice full shower and bathroom. Super cool pull-down, double bunk bed above the cockpit. She'd make a great home on or off the road. There's also a nice original Onan Generator built in and it looks to be in good condition but I haven't tested her yet, which would power the central AC. The big propane tanks also work to power the refrigerator, freezer, stove and oven. The outside is perfectly weathered for her age but looks pretty cool. All running lights work. The engine is a Dodge 440. This RV has meticulous records from the single owner, going all the way back to '73, before sitting for quite some time. She comes with the original owners and service manuals.
Once we purchased her, we immediately invested a lot of time and money into getting her ready for this long road trip. She's got a new Holley Carburetor, New Starter, New Fuel Pump, New Brake Drums, New Alternator, New Radiator Caps, New Motor Mounts, New Oil & Filter and more. She still smokes from the tailpipe, like Snoop Dog and his friends are inside, which I believe is from sitting a long time and there's either some bad seals or rings that could possibly be replaced, although she's exempt from SMOG testing. She starts and runs and I've driven her slowly around town, no overheating but she still needs work and should be towed to a mechanic or purchased by someone who's good with older engines. She's priced to sell, as is, although knowing she still needs some engine work to get her up to speed I'd be willing to lower it just a bit so you've got a little extra working capital to get her all the way ready for many adventures to come. With a little more elbow grease and updates she's a great investment for such a classic RV!
I'm willing to take a minimum of $4k cash or trade for an old chopper motorcycle for this sexy beast!
Registered through July 2018.
The Indian is 24 feet long and has 6 feet 3 inches of headspace inside. at 6 feet 3 inches. It has an electronic ignition system, a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes. Captain's chairs are to the right of the door, and a kitchenette that can also sleep two children is across from the door, but the kitchen is on the left and the shower/toilet bathroom is on the right of a hall that leads to a rear couch and master's suite. Shag carpet and band-style bunk adaptions were prevalent in 1973.
