Detail by Owner
My Vintage 1984 Country Camper 26 Foot Lexington RV is for sale. It's in generally good-to-great condition. I'm tired of recurring age-related maintenance so am pricing her fairly at $2450. This price accounts for updates so don't low-ball me. I am the third owner. Here's the Good, Bad and Ugly. . ..
The Good:
- 75K original miles
- 460 Ford, hotter cam, 4BBL carb, high flow exhaust, runs strong (NO EMISSIONS REQD)
- Tranny fine, has a 2 speed gear splitter (adds a 4th gear)
- About 2K on rear brakes and tires, 4K on front brakes
- Great condition inside, carpet, seat covers, cabinets, beds all good and comfy
- Mostly new window coverings
- Double bed lower level, queen upper
- Oven and stove good condition, microwave, 30,000 BTU furnace
- 3-way refrigerator works good
- 4kW Onan generator, a bit noisy but does the job
- 2 water tanks under seats
- Road tools (compressor, jacks, electric torque driver, chains, tow rope, etc.) and camping setup (wood tire ramps, etc.) included
- 2 deep cell batteries (1) powers living (2) starts generator
- AC units work good, both up front and on top
- Layout is perfect for 2 adults and maybe a couple kiddos
- 2 gas tanks
- Hitches front and rear
- Propane tank 90 percent full
- File folder contains operating instructions, receipts, etc.
- Other nice options
The Bad and Ugly:
- She's old! Needs yearly repairs as most RV's and homes do
- One plumbing leak I know of under the furnace -- I have materials to fix
- Toilet needs a plumbing rebuild, parts available online
- Needs new awning -- too much exposure to NM sun -- 500-600 bucks replacement cost
- Water heater sparking is intermittent
- Front gas tank pump can't keep up on big hills, rear tank pumps fine
- Previous owner unhooked cruise control
- Funky stuff you'd expect from a 32 year old motorhome!
Serious, this is a great RV. Runs strong, has a great chassis and motor, layout is excellent, interior gently used. It is a bargain for someone willing to perform some repairs and keep up with the maintenance program. I don't use it much so time to sell.
