1954 GMC Scenicruiser for Sale

For Sale, 1954 GMC Scenicruiser for Sale

Price: $6500
Used RVs for Sale, here's information about a classic American road icon from the 1950s to the 1970s. The General Motors manufactured only 1,001 units of this iconic vehicle exclusively for The Greyhound Corporation. It was a three-axle monocoque two-level coach, and Greyhound used it from July 1954 into the 1970s. The GM PD-4501 Scenicruiser became an American icon due to its presence throughout the USA in cities and along highways, and its popularity with the traveling public.

One of the Scenicruisers is being offered for sale by the owner on Craigslist. It is listed as a complete project, but the interior has been stripped, and the engine's running condition is unknown as it has been sitting for a long time. If you're interested in purchasing it, you'll need to inspect it closely. However, it has a lot of potential for a motorhome conversion project.

Detail by owner
1954 GMC Scenicruiser for Sale, I bought this to convert to a motorhome, and it's titled as such. The inside is an empty shell. It needs complete restoration and conversion to be used as a motorhome. It has air ride, air brakes, 8V71 Detroit Diesel(old school 2 stroke diesel), 4 speed manual transmission. It's a 40' diesel pusher design. It runs and will move under its own power, however I would not drive it as it has sit for a long time, and tires are old, brakes are unknown condition. It stops and can be driven in the yard, but would require thorough check out to drive on road. Several windows are cracked. The skylights and rear window have been closed in with aluminum panels. Some conversion parts included in sale. I have too many projects and haven't worked on this one in over a year. Time to let it go. This one is #227 of 1001 originally built. It is the last 1954 model built, and was used by Greyhound on there SouthEastern routes. Come see it, and we can negotiate the price. The picture is an old picture, and I will try to get up a more recent one soon.
